Role contribution:
Aligned with Deli-Co's commitment to quality and sustainability, the Senior Meat Wholesaler oversees wholesale operations, ensuring high-quality meat distribution to over 2000 businesses. This role supports strategic growth by managing logistics, enhancing customer relationships, and expanding market reach, contributing to Deli-Co's vision of delivering premium meat products both locally and internationally.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply of quality meat products.
- Identify and target new wholesale customers to expand market reach and increase sales.
- Drive sales growth by setting and achieving revenue targets using market insights.
- Adjust pricing strategies based on market conditions and competitor analysis to maintain profitability.
- Support marketing efforts by participating in trade shows and promotional activities to boost brand presence.
- Ensure product specifications align with customer requirements through coordination with production teams.
- Lead contract negotiations for wholesale orders to ensure favourable terms and compliance.
- Analyse sales data to report on performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with Sales & Marketing Manager to align sales efforts with marketing campaigns.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; relevant sales experience may substitute for formal education.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in wholesale trading, B2B sales, or sales leadership, preferably within the meat, food distribution, or a related industry.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth, exceeding targets, and building long-term customer relationships.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to develop and execute integrated sales and marketing strategies.
- Strong knowledge of the meat industry, including product types, quality standards, supply chain logistics, regulatory requirements, market trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to secure favourable agreements with suppliers and customers and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse market data, sales performance, and customer behaviour to support informed decisions that drive growth and profitability.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM software, ERP systems, and inventory management tools.
- Strong experience in managing key accounts, sourcing products, and collaborating with sales and marketing teams.
Working conditions:
