ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

35% Provides internal sales support to assigned region and Senior Sales Managers, which includes:

  • Gaining full working knowledge of internal processes for underwriting, policy submit/issue, claims, client services, contracting and licensing, accounting, and commissions;
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge and remaining current on industry trends and competitors;
  • Maintaining close working contact with Senior Sales Managers to ensure deliverables and commitments are handled – maintains regular and frequent contact with the assigned Senior Sales Manager;
  • Providing product knowledge and sales ideas via phone;
  • Handling and screening incoming calls, emails, or faxes to Senior Sales Managers;
  • Providing more sophisticated product illustrations and explaining detailed product features and benefits;
  • Gaining and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of products, Home Office processes, and sales strategies;
  • Assisting the Senior Sales Managers in developing strategies for marketing within the assigned territories; and
  • Provides Assurity product and process training virtually for distribution. 

 

25% Tracks and maintains schedules for travel and meetings effectiveness, which includes:

  • Coordinating the “territory team” of Senior Sales Managers and Regional Wholesalers to assure good territory strategy and action; and
  • Coordinating and supporting all follow up activity in partnership with Senior Sales Managers because of a visit to a distributor.

 

25% Initiates calls to distributors to set up meetings, which includes:

  • Generating new sales through qualifying, prospecting and education of products and services;
  • Utilizing HubSpot for basic territory management and contact management reporting;
  • Screening and qualifying new distributors over the phone to ensure Senior Sales Manager visits are productive;
  • Preparing and distributing illustrations, power point presentations; and
  • Scheduling meetings, preparing agenda and itineraries.

 

15% Performs other functions as assigned, which includes:

  • Preparing reports;
  • Coordinating schedules with Senior Sales Manager; and
  • Tracking territory activity.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Two to four years’ experience in business, sales or related field required.
  • Familiarity with the insurance industry and products required.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills required.
  • Self-motivated individual who initiates action.
  • High energy and collaborative style.
  • Decision-making ability required.
  • Word processing, spreadsheet software and power point proficiency required.
  • Talent required in focus, responsibility, discipline, belief, personalizer, relator, sophistication, critical thinking, business sense, communication, courage, persuasion, pride, and achiever.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent in related field required.
  • Multilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Spanish, preferred.

PHYSICAL AND WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

  • May require work more than 40 hours a week to complete functions of position.
  • May require occasional travel with Senior Sales Managers.
